On this excursion from Chisinau, we'll visit the Cricova winery and the monasteries of Orheiul and Vechi, part of Moldova's cultural heritage.

Description

At the specified time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chisinau for a journey to explore key cultural landmarks in Moldova.

Our first stop will be at two notable monasteries: the Curchi and Orheiul Vechi monasteries. Curchi, situated in the Vatici Valley, is surrounded by the Codru forests. Here, we'll discuss the history and unique features of Moldovan religious architecture.

Next, we will proceed to Orheiul Vechi, an open-air museum with ruins of ancient settlements and fortresses, including the Mongol city of Shehr Jedid and a rock church. After exploring the archaeological sites, you will have free time to enjoy a meal at a traditional restaurant serving typical Moldovan cuisine.

After our meal, we'll head to the Cricova winery, the second-largest in the country. The wines are stored in caves at depths of 60 to 80 meters (196 to 262 feet) and have been visited by notable figures. We will take a tour of the facilities and learn about the winemaking process. Following our visit, we will return to Chisinau and drop you off at your hotel after approximately 8 hours of activity.
