Transnistria Day Trip

On this day trip in Transnistria, we'll visit two cities in the breakaway region of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic: Tiraspol and Bender.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your Chisinau hotel and head northeast, crossing the Dniester River towards the border between Moldova and Ukraine.

During this tour, we'll explore the most prominent cities in Transnistria, which declared its independence from Moldova in 1990. Despite this, Transnistria is not recognized by the Moldovan government or the European community. It operates with its own government, police force, constitution, and currency, the Transnistrian ruble.

After passing through passport control, we'll drive to the town of Bender (Tighina). Here, we'll visit the Memorial to Military Glory, the Tighina Fortress, and the train station.

Next, we'll explore Tiraspol, the capital of Transnistria. A panoramic tour will begin with October 25th Avenue, with stops at landmarks such as the Stalin Empire building, former USSR factories, Suvorov Square, and the University on foot.

After our visit, you will have free time for lunch. We will then reconvene to cross the border back to Moldova, returning to Chisinau. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled 6 hours after pickup.
