Head into the Sierra Bullones and follow the natural border between Spain and Morocco with this hiking route along the neo-medieval fortresses of Ceuta. You'll see seven watchtowers that served to mark the line between continents.

Neo-Medieval Fortresses Hike

At the time of your choice, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ceuta and drive to the Sierra Bullones to start a 6-kilometer hiking route. The hike will explore the seven hills that separate Spain from Morocco, focusing on the history of the neo-medieval forts erected in the mid-19th century after the Spanish victory in the Battle of Wad-Ras. These fortifications have protected the border since then.

During the hike, participants will see the towers of Piniés, Aranguren, Ányera, Mendizábal, Isabel II, Francisco de Asís and the fort of Príncipe Alfonso. The trail is of moderate difficulty and offers views of the natural border between Europe and Africa. The hiking route will take three hours to complete, after which we will return to the vehicles and drop you off at your hotel.
