Huancas & Sonche Canyon Day Trip
This day trip includes a pickup from your hotel at a selected time, followed by a journey to Huancas, situated less than 10 kilometers north of Chachapoyas.
We will visit the viewpoint of the Sonche Canyon, offering a view of the Amazon Andes' rugged terrain and the deep geological canyon formed by the Sonche River.
In Huancas, explore the ancient pottery techniques of local female artisans, recognized as a cultural heritage of Peru. Learn about the ceramics-making process and the pottery tradition influenced by Huanca, Chachapoya, Inca, and Hispanic cultures.
On our return to Chachapoyas, we will stop at the Luya Urco viewpoint for photographs. Following this, we will visit the Santa Ana Ethno-Historical-Religious Museum to learn about the region's 16th-century architecture.
The final stop will be the Santa Isabel orchid nursery in the southern area of the city. The total duration of the trip is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes before returning to hotels in Chachapoyas.
