Kuelap Fortress Day Trip

After picking you up from your hotel at 8:20 am, we'll leave Chachapoyas and head south to Nuevo Tingo. Upon arrival, we will take the cable car for a 20-minute ride up to Kuelap, an ancient settlement in the Amazonian Andes.

We will admire the impressive 20-meter high stone walls surrounded by cliffs and the Peruvian Amazonia. Following a 20-minute uphill walk, we will reach the Kuelap architectural complex.

The exploration will include the fascinating circular structures dating back to the 5th century AD, such as El Tintero (Inkwell), Templo Mayor (Main Temple), and Torreón (Tower). Kuelap is noted as the largest archaeological monument of pre-Incan civilizations in Peru.

After the visit, we will have lunch at a local restaurant, featuring a menu of soup followed by a main course of chicken, fish, or beef.

At the end of the trip, we will return via the cable car to Nuevo Tingo before heading back to Chachapoyas, with drop-off at your hotel expected around 5:30 pm.
