Oxapampa 2 Day Tour

Day 1: La Merced - Oxapampa - Pozuzo

We'll pick you up from your hotel in La Merced at 8 am and begin the tour in Oxapampa, the district's capital, home to Austro-German descendants with distinctive wooden houses in Tyrolean style, including the Church of Santa Rosa.

Next, we'll visit the Huarapo farm, known for its sugar cane brandy, where you'll sample some local products. Our itinerary includes a visit to a trout farm and a dairy plant. You will then have time for lunch before traveling to Pozuzo, viewing landmarks like the Rayantambo and Yuliqunti waterfalls and the Yanachanga National Park.

We'll arrive in Pozuzo in the evening for rest.

Day 2: Pozuzo - La Merced

The day will start with breakfast at your accommodation, followed by a tour of Pozuzo and the Church of San José, built in 1875. A monument to Father Joseph Egg stands in front of the church.

We will explore the main square, visiting the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Francisco Shafferer Museum, which contains artifacts from the first European settlers. The tour includes a stop at the Emperor Wilhelm I suspension bridge, showcasing European-style buildings like the Budweiser house.

We'll also visit Pozuzo's cemetery before having lunch. The tour concludes with a return to La Merced, dropping you off at your hotel between 5 and 6 pm.
