Oxapampa 2 Day Tour
Day 1: La Merced - Oxapampa - Pozuzo
We will pick you up from your hotel in La Merced at 8 am to commence the tour. Our first stop is the town of Oxapampa, known for its Austro-German heritage, characterized by wooden houses and Tyrolean-style buildings, including the Church of Santa Rosa.
We'll then visit the Huarapo farm, where sugar cane brandy is produced, and sample its products. A visit to a trout farm and a dairy plant follows, after which you'll have free time for lunch. The journey continues as we admire the views of the Rayantambo and Yuliqunti waterfalls and the Yanachanga National Park before arriving in Pozuzo to rest.
Day 2: Pozuzo - La Merced
The second day starts with breakfast at our accommodation. We will tour Pozuzo and visit the Church of San José, built in 1875, and see the monument to Father Joseph Egg. The tour includes the main square, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Francisco Shafferer Museum, which displays antique objects from early settlers.
Next, we will visit the Emperor Wilhelm I suspension bridge and notable buildings in European styles, including the Budweiser house. After a visit to Pozuzo's cemetery, we’ll take a lunch break before returning to La Merced, dropping you off at your hotel between 5 and 6 pm.
