Oxapampa 2 Day Tour

Day 1: La Merced - Oxapampa - Pozuzo

We will pick you up from your hotel in La Merced at 8 am to start the tour. The first stop is the town of Oxapampa, capital of the district, known for its Austro-German settlement heritage. Highlights include wooden houses and buildings in Tyrolean style, such as the Church of Santa Rosa.

Next, visit the Huarapo farm, known for producing sugar cane brandy, where you can sample products. We will then visit a trout farm and a dairy plant before taking a break for lunch. On the way to Pozuzo, enjoy views of notable sites like the Rayantambo and Yuliqunti waterfalls and Yanachanga National Park.

Upon arrival in Pozuzo, you can settle in and rest.

Day 2: Pozuzo - La Merced

The day starts with breakfast at your accommodation. A tour of Pozuzo includes the Church of San José, established in 1875, and the monument to Father Joseph Egg, along with the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Francisco Shafferer Museum, which showcases artifacts from the first settlers.

We will visit the Emperor Wilhelm I suspension bridge, built in 1877, and see European-style buildings like the Budweiser house and the District Municipality. After visiting Pozuzo's cemetery, there will be a break for lunch before returning to La Merced for hotel drop-off between 5 and 6 pm.
