Oxapampa 2 Day Tour

Day 1: La Merced - Oxapampa - Pozuzo

The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in La Merced at 8 am. Our first visit is the town of Oxapampa, the district's capital, featuring wooden houses built in the Tyrolean style and the Church of Santa Rosa. We will visit the Huarapo farm, where sugar cane brandy is produced, and sample some products. Following this, we will see a trout farm and a dairy plant. You will have time for lunch before we head to Pozuzo, passing by iconic spots such as the Rayantambo and Yuliqunti waterfalls and Yanachanga National Park. We will arrive in Pozuzo for rest.

Day 2: Pozuzo - La Merced

The second day starts with breakfast at our accommodation. We will tour Pozuzo, visiting the Church of San José, established in 1875, and a monument to Father Joseph Egg. We will explore the main square, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the Francisco Shafferer Museum, which holds items from early settlers. Next, we will visit the Emperor Wilhelm I suspension bridge and see European-style buildings like the Budweiser house and the House of Culture. After visiting Pozuzo's cemetery, we will have lunch and return to La Merced, with drop-off at your hotel between 5 and 6 pm.
