Oxapampa & Yanachaga National Park Trip

We'll pick you up at 8 am from your hotel in La Merced and set off on a trip to the north.

Our trip will start with a visit to Oxapampa, the capital of the province of the same name, founded by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century. We will explore the districts of Oxapampa, including the neighbourhoods of Miraflores and Llamaquizu, and observe traditional houses along the Paseo de los Colonos. The tour includes a stop at the church of Santa Rosa, notable for its Tyrolean style.

Next, we'll visit the Oxapampa valley, stopping at the Huarapo estate to learn about the sugar cane brandy-making process, with tasting opportunities. We will also visit a trout farm and a dairy plant to understand local farming livelihoods.

You will have free time for lunch before we continue to Yanachaga National Park, located in the Amazon rainforest, where you can experience the jungle life of central Peru.

After a full day exploring the Oxapampa region, we will return to La Merced, arriving at around 5 pm.
