We'll pick you up at 8 am from your hotel in La Merced and set off north.

The trip starts with a visit to Oxapampa, the capital of the province. This town was founded by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century. Their descendants live here, where European and Andean cultures intersect, evident in surnames like Mayer or Müller.

We'll explore the districts of Oxapampa, including the neighborhoods of Miraflores and Llamaquizu, while observing the traditional houses along the Paseo de los Colonos. The tour includes passing by the church of Santa Rosa, notable for its Tyrolean style architecture.

Next, we will proceed to the Oxapampa valley, stopping at the Huarapo estate to learn about the sugar cane brandy-making process and taste this local drink. We will also visit a trout farm and a dairy plant, gaining insight into the livelihoods of local farmers.

You will have free time for lunch before we head to the Yanachaga National Park, situated in the Amazon rainforest. This protected area provides an opportunity to experience jungle life in central Peru.

After a day exploring the Oxapampa region, we will return to La Merced, arriving at your hotel around 5 pm.
