Perené Valley & Chanchamayo Waterfalls Experience
Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel at 9 am, setting the stage for an unforgettable excursion to the Perené Valley. Our first stop will be at the Kimiri Suspension Bridge, located just outside of La Merced, notable for being the oldest suspension bridge in the Chanchamayo province.
As we traverse the Perené Valley, you will hear the fascinating legend that lends its name to the region's hills. Throughout the journey, the landscape will be filled with lush orange groves, leading us to the Villa Progreso viewpoint, where you can marvel at the picturesque meeting point of the Chanchamayo and Paucartambo rivers that create the Perené riverbed. The waters of these rivers originate from the majestic Huaytapallana Mountains.
Our next destination is an Indigenous Asháninca community, providing an opportunity to delve into the traditions and crafts emblematic of this Amazonian culture. Following this enlightening visit, we will proceed to the town of Yurinaki, where you'll have some leisure time to enjoy lunch.
After a well-deserved break, we'll head towards the iconic Chanchamayo waterfalls: Bayoz and Velo de la Novia (Bride's Veil), both soaring over 100 meters high. As we return, a brief stop at the Highland Coffee factory will offer insights into the coffee production process, highlighting the area's reputation as Peru's coffee capital.
At the conclusion of this enriching nine-hour adventure, you will be dropped off back at your hotel in La Merced.
