Rainforest Farm Organic Coffee Tour
The most expensive coffee in the world comes from the stomach of a mammal. Misha coffee can cost more than 1000 dollars per kilo.
To explore this, we'll pick you up at your hotel in La Merced at the scheduled time for a trip to the Rainforest farm, a key center for organic coffee production in Chanchamayo. Upon arrival, you will receive a hot cup of coffee or an ice cream.
During this tour, we will discover how the exclusive Misha coffee is made from beans ingested by a coati or mishasho, mixed with fruits in its stomach, and later excreted to create the delicious coffee that some pay up to 75 dollars per cup for.
We will also visit the Misha Conservation Centre to learn about the care given to the coatis that produce this coffee. Additionally, we’ll observe the compost production method used for treating the coffee crops.
We will pause for lunch, featuring a starter, a main course, and a drink, followed by a visit to the organic coffee, pineapple, and medicinal plant crops on the farm.
Finally, we will return to La Merced and drop you off at your hotel after a total of 10 hours.
