At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in La Merced and start exploring the province of Oxapampa.

This area has been inhabited by three different civilizations: the Campas to the east, the Amueshas to the west, and the Cashibos to the northeast. These Amazonian tribes lived in harmony. The region is known for its waterfalls and crops of coffee, pineapple, and rocoto.

Our first stop will be in the village of Villa Rica, where we will discuss the municipality's role as a coffee producer. During our stroll, we'll see the Chapel of Our Lady of Rosario and the Plaza de Armas in the town's center.

You will have some free time for lunch before we head to the El Oconal Lagoon, a vital wetland home to fish like catfish and tilapia and white herons. This lagoon was formed by fluvial deposits during the Cenozoic period approximately 50 million years ago.

We'll return to La Merced and drop you off at your hotel after an unforgettable 9-hour day trip.
