Experience the best of Crete's traditional gastronomy, visiting a local winery and an olive oil mill. You'll get to taste the island's star delicacies!
Wine and Olive Oil Tour
After picking you up from your hotel, you'll head for the mountainous Kissamos region to the north of the island. On the way, you'll pass several vineyards and olive fields and learn about the importance of wine and olive oil production in Crete.
The first stop will be at a family winery in Kissamos, where you'll learn about the winemaking process. Explore the winery's facilities and wander amongst the vines, while the guide points out the types of grapes used for wine production.
You will also visit the winery's art gallery and taste a selection of different wines, including local wines such as Vidiano and Muscat of Spina, alongside international varieties paired with local produce.
Following the winery visit, you'll travel through the Cretan countryside to an ancient village with a renowned olive oil mill. There, you'll gain knowledge about the production of olive oil and enjoy a tasting of extra virgin olive oil.
Your day will conclude with a visit to the oldest olive tree in the world, over 3,000 years old, before returning to Chania around 3:30 PM.
