Aroe Jari Cavern & Lagoa Azul Cave Hiking Tour

Join us for a hiking tour to explore the Aroe Jari Cavern and the Lagoa Azul Grotto in Chapada dos Guimarães.

Tour Highlights

We will pick you up from your hotel in Chapada dos Guimarães at the specified time to begin the hiking route. The scenic trail is approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) and leads to the Aroe Jari Cavern Tourist Complex located at the Água Fria farm.

During the hike, we will visit three significant caves, including the Gruta da Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon Grotto), and discuss the history of the ancestors who inhabited the area.

The complex features some of the largest sandstone caves in South America, including the Aroe Jari Cavern, which is the largest in Brazil. We will also see unique rock formations such as the Ponte de Pedra and the Pedra do Equilíbrio.

The tour includes a visit to the Gruta da Lagoa Azul, known for its clear waters. We will take a break for lunch, which consists of a traditional local meal with plantain farofa, fried fish or chicken with rice, salad, and beans.

To conclude the hike, we will relax with a swim at Cachoeira do Relógio. After approximately eight hours of hiking, we will return you to your hotel.
