Experience the thrill of conquering the highest point in Chapada dos Guimarães National Park through this unforgettable hiking expedition to São Jerônimo Hill. Are you prepared for an immersive journey through nature?

Tour Highlights

Your adventure begins with a timely pick-up from your accommodation, followed by a scenic drive to the center of the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park. Here, we will begin our ascent to its highest summit. Let’s begin our trek!

The journey kicks off along a moderately challenging 16-kilometer (10-mile) trail, meandering through ancient routes flanked by stunning rock formations shaped by nature’s hand, which resemble genuine art pieces.

As we continue our hike, the silhouette of Morro de São Jerônimo will emerge in the distance. Known originally as Bokodoriri, this name stems from an indigenous language and means "giant armadillo". Look closely! The peak is believed to resemble an armadillo when seen from below.

As we ascend, we’ll reach the top of Chapada dos Guimarães, towering at an altitude of 850 meters (2,788 feet) above sea level. Your effort will be rewarded with stunning panoramic vistas! Nearby, you may encounter small hematite stones rich in iron, with some displaying fossilized seashell impressions—curious about the story behind them? We have the answer awaiting you!

After savoring the magnificent surroundings, we will begin our trek back to your hotel. Approximately eight hours later, we will drop you off at your accommodation.
