Historic Rosedale House Guided Tour
Meet us at the Historic Rosedale at the scheduled time as we set off on a guided tour through the grounds of this historic 1815 Federal-style home!
First, we'll learn the history behind this former private residence, owned by the same family for five generations. After renovations in 1993, the site opened to the public, inviting visitors to explore the house and 9 acres of gardens.
Throughout the tour, we'll discuss many interesting facts about the house and the surrounding area. Together, we'll enter the 15-room estate to uncover insights into the Antebellum period in the United States. Within the rooms, we will observe architectural and decorative motifs from this era and details left behind by each generation.
Next, we'll move into the gardens area, which features well-manicured greenery. Here, you're free to explore at your own pace, taking in the boxwood plants that date back to when the house was completed in 1815 and rose bushes planted in the 1950s.
The tour will conclude 1 hour later, allowing for full immersion in the tranquil atmosphere at Rosedale.
