On the day of the activity, at the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Spiral Odyssey Sculpture in Romare Bearden Park. We'll begin this walking tour of the city of Charlotte to discover its charms. This tour will offer a look into Charlotte's past and present.

At our starting point, the scene will be set for the remainder of the tour in this park where lush greenery meets urban art. Our guide will explain how the city has transformed from a trading post along the Catawba path to a banking hub. We will learn about how the former gold mines influenced the economy, tracing its evolution from milltowns to a modern metropolis.

As we continue, we will discuss the legacy of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, after whom the city is named, and notable figures like Romare Bearden and Michael Jordan. Stops will include vibrant street art, skyscrapers, and important landmarks.

After 1 hour and almost 2 kilometers of walking, we will conclude at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.
