On the day of the activity, at the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Spiral Odyssey Sculpture in Romare Bearden Park. We'll begin this walking tour to discover the city's charms. This tour offers a look into Charlotte's past and present.

At our starting point, the scene will be set for the remainder of the tour in this park where lush greenery meets urban art. We'll leave the park as our guide explains how the city has transformed from a trading post along the Catawba path to a banking hub. We'll learn how the former gold mines influenced the city’s economy, tracing its evolution from milltowns to a modern metropolis.

Continuing the tour, we'll hear about the legacy of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, after whom the city was named. Charlotte also boasts connections with artist Romare Bearden and basketball superstar Michael Jordan. We'll make stops to view vibrant street art, skyscrapers, and important landmarks.

After 1 hour and walking almost 2 kilometers, we'll conclude the tour at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.
