On the day of the activity, at the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Spiral Odyssey Sculpture in Romare Bearden Park. We'll begin this walking tour of Charlotte to discover its charms. This tour is designed for those passing through the city, permanent residents, or newcomers, offering a look into Charlotte's past and present.

At the park, we will set the scene, where lush greenery meets urban art. As we leave the park, our guide will discuss the city’s transformation from a trading post along the Catawba path to a major banking hub. We will also explore how the former gold mines influenced the economy, evolving from milltowns to a large metropolis.

Throughout the tour, we will hear about the influential Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and notable personalities like artist Romare Bearden and basketball player Michael Jordan, each contributing to the city's character. We will make stops to view vibrant street art, skyscrapers, and important landmarks.

After 1 hour and nearly 2 kilometers of walking, we will conclude the tour at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.
