Explore Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle

Perched on the scenic banks of the Loire, nestled between Amboise and Blois, the renowned Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle stands as a remarkable landmark. Though its origins are rooted in medieval architecture, the castle flourished during the French Renaissance, particularly after its acquisition by Catherine de Medici in 1550.

With your ticket in hand, you are free to roam the historical grounds at your leisure. Experience the lavish life of Queen Catherine de Medici as you traverse her private quarters, and take a moment to visit the rooms of Cosimo Ruggeri, the queen's respected astrologer.

During your visit, don't overlook the Council Chamber, where the remarkable Tapestry of the Planets and the Days resides—a significant art piece worthy of admiration. Also, make sure to see the Staircase of Honor, the chapel, and the strategically located Guard Room.

Of course, the private apartments are also a highlight, showcasing a dining room, a library, both small and large living rooms, and a billiard room.

Your ticket also opens the door to various captivating areas within the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire estate, beyond just the castle. From the stables and farm to the breathtaking gardens, there’s plenty to explore! Additionally, the estate features Le Bois des Chambres hotel, situated 984 feet (300 meters) from the entrance, as well as the serene restaurant Le Grand Chaume, perfect for enhancing your visit.
