Follow the spectacular Water Route through Chaves, Vidago, and Verin on this brilliant tour. Along the way, you'll discover the benefits of the most mineralized waters on the Iberian Peninsula.

Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel at the selected time and get into a minibus to begin our tour of the Portuguese Water Route.

First, we'll head to Vidago, a small village known for its medicinal waters recommended to treat diseases such as gout or diabetes. Here, we'll visit the spa and taste the local mineral water, produced since 1886.

Then we'll return to Chaves, the capital of the Alto Tâmega region, originally named Aquae Flaviae. We'll visit the Roman baths, which treat ailments like rheumatism and skin issues due to their high silica content. Afterward, there will be a break for lunch, where you may choose to try the local specialty, the Chaves cake.

After lunch, we'll continue along the Water Route, cross the border into Spain to visit the castle of Monterrey, a fortress-palace from the 10th century. We will then proceed to the Galician town of Verin, known for its natural springs from which water is sold across the Iberian Peninsula, including Cabreiroa, Fontenova, and Sousa. We'll visit its spas and taste the waters of Fonte do Sapo and Caldeliñas.

Finally, we'll return and drop you off at your hotel approximately 6 hours after pickup.
