Follow the spectacular Water Route through Chaves, Vidago, and Verin on this tour, discovering the benefits of the mineralized waters on the Iberian Peninsula.

Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel at the selected time and board a minibus to begin the Portuguese Water Route tour.

First, we'll travel to Vidago, known for its medicinal waters recommended for treating conditions like gout and diabetes. We will visit the spa and taste the local mineral water produced since 1886.

Next, we return to Chaves, the capital of Alto Tâmega, formerly known as Aquae Flaviae. We'll explore the Roman baths, beneficial for ailments like rheumatism and skin issues due to their high silica content. After this visit, there will be a break for lunch on your own, with the option to try the local specialty, the Chaves cake.

After lunch, we'll continue along the Water Route and cross into Spain to visit the castle of Monterrey, a fortress-palace from the 10th century, before heading to the Galician town of Verin. This town is recognized for its natural springs, such as the waters of Cabreiroa, Fontenova, and Sousa. We will visit its spas and sample these waters, including those from Fonte do Sapo and Caldeliñas.

Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel approximately 6 hours after pickup.
