Tour Details

This tour begins at the entrance to Hotel Madrid, where participants will board a minibus and depart Chefchaouen. The drive to Oued Laou takes approximately 35 minutes, leading to the Knadel Cave situated in the Rif Mountains. This cave has a rich history of myths and legends. After equipping ourselves with helmets and necessary gear, we will start our caving adventure.

During the exploration, guests will learn about geology while viewing stalactites and stalagmites within the cave, known as Ghar Knadel in Arabic. The cave features a complex network of underground galleries showcasing various rock formations and a spectrum of colours in its limestone, ranging from brown and ochre to pink and white. The tour also includes stories about the legends linked to the cave.

Upon completing the caving route in Knadel Cave, the group will return to the minibus for the journey back to Chefchaouen, arriving approximately 7 hours after pickup.

Who can participate in this activity?

A good level of physical fitness is required.This tour is not suitable for individuals with heart or back problems or for pregnant women.No prior caving experience is necessary.
