Discover the main attractions of the City of Pandas on this guided tour of Chengdu with an English-speaking guide.

Description

We'll meet at Tianfu Square in central Chengdu. The tour will begin with an overview of the square, highlighting monuments such as the white sculpture of Mao Tse Tung and dragon-shaped fountains, as we delve into the city’s history spanning over 4000 years.

Next, we'll visit the Chengdu Museum, the largest museum in the city, where the tour will cover the history from the prehistoric period to the founding of the People's Republic of China in the 1940s, exploring social, political, economic, artistic, and cultural aspects.

After the museum, we will proceed to Chengdu People's Park, formerly an underground air raid shelter for the Sichuan Army during World War II. Here, we will observe locals engaging in daily dances and visiting the famous blind date corner.

Subsequently, we'll explore the iconic long and narrow alleyways of Chengdu, which feature the oldest buildings in the city, including those from the Qing dynasty and Western styles.

We will conclude the tour with a short stop at a café to enjoy some typical tea. The entire tour will last for 6 hours of walking.
