Description
We'll meet at Tianfu Square, in the center of Chengdu, at the scheduled time. The guided tour will start here, where we will explore significant landmarks, including the white sculpture of Mao Tse Tung and the dragon-shaped fountains. This square marks the beginning of our exploration of Chengdu's history, which spans over 4000 years.
Next, we will visit the Chengdu Museum, the largest in the city, offering a journey through history from prehistoric times to the establishment of the People's Republic of China in the 1940s, covering social, political, economic, and cultural developments.
We will then continue to Chengdu People's Park, an old subterranean air raid shelter used during the Second World War, where we will observe local activities such as dances and visit the famous blind date corner.
The tour will also include a visit to the iconic long and narrow alleyways of Chengdu, showcasing the oldest buildings in the city, including Qing dynasty constructions and Western-style architecture.
We will make a short stop at a café for typical tea, concluding the tour, which lasts a total of 3 hours of walking.
