Discover the main attractions of the City of Pandas on this guided tour of Chengdu with an English-speaking guide.
Description
We'll meet at Tianfu Square at the scheduled time. The tour will highlight the biggest attractions in the City of Pandas, starting with this square, known for the white sculpture of Mao Tse Tung and dragon-shaped fountains. Here, we'll discuss the history of Chengdu, which dates back over 4000 years.
Next, we'll walk to the Chengdu Museum, the largest and most complete museum in the city. The tour will cover history from the prehistoric period to the foundation of the People's Republic of China in the 1940s, examining social, political, economic, artistic, and cultural aspects.
We will then proceed to Chengdu People's Park, an old air raid shelter used during the Second World War. Here, you'll observe locals engaging in daily activities, including dances and visiting the blind date corner.
Afterward, we will explore the iconic long and narrow alleyways of Chengdu, showcasing the oldest buildings, including those from the Qing dynasty and Western style.
We will conclude the tour with a stop at a local café for typical tea, ending our 3-hour walking tour in this part of the city.
