Description
We'll meet at Tianfu Square in central Chengdu at the scheduled time. This square features monuments such as the white sculpture of Mao Tse Tung and dragon-shaped fountains. Here, we will recount the history of Chengdu, a city with over 4000 years of history.
Next, we'll walk to the Chengdu Museum, the largest museum in the city. Our tour will cover periods from prehistoric times to the foundation of the People's Republic of China in the 1940s.
After exploring the social, political, economic, artistic, and cultural aspects, we will visit Chengdu People's Park, an old underground air raid shelter from the Second World War. Here, locals participate in daily dances, and we will see the famous blind date corner.
We will then continue to the iconic long and narrow alleyways of Chengdu, an area showcasing the oldest buildings in the city, including those from the Qing dynasty and Western style.
A short stop at a local café will allow us to enjoy some typical tea. The tour will conclude after a total of 3 hours of walking.
