Discover the Old City and the most important Buddhist temples in northern Thailand on this fantastic private tour of Chiang Mai!

Description

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai to begin exploring the city's most emblematic sites and important temples, reflecting over 700 years of history.

The tour starts with a visit to the Wat Phra Singh Temple, a popular sanctuary in the western part of the Old City, dating back to the mid-14th century.

Next, we visit the Wat Chedi Luang Temple, historically a fortress against Burmese invasions, where we’ll see the large chedi that once housed the Emerald Buddha. Moving through the historic center, we will also visit Wat Chiang Man Temple, the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, known for its various spaces and elephant figures in its chedi.

We'll then explore a unique wooden temple, notable for its beautiful woodwork and large Buddha. On certain days, rituals may be observed here.

After visiting some of the city's significant temples, we will stop by a local fruit and vegetable market to learn about the ingredients used in Thai cuisine. The tour will conclude after four to four and a half hours of exploration.
