Discover the Old City and the most important Buddhist temples in northern Thailand on this private tour of Chiang Mai.
Description
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai to explore the city's emblematic sites and important temples, reflecting over 700 years of history.
The tour will start with a visit to the Wat Phra Singh Temple, one of the most popular sanctuaries, with origins dating back to the mid-14th century.
Next, we visit the Wat Chedi Luang Temple, which was used as a fortress against Burmese invasions, where we will see the large chedi that once housed the Emerald Buddha. Continuing through the historic center, we will visit the Wat Chiang Man Temple, the oldest in Chiang Mai, known for its various spaces and elephant figures in the chedi.
We will also explore a unique wooden temple, noted for its beautiful woodwork and a large Buddha. On some days, rituals may be observed here.
After visiting important temples, we'll proceed to a local fruit and vegetable market to learn about the products used in Thai cuisine. The tour lasts approximately four to four and a half hours.
