Chepe Express 3-Day Tour: Creel & Copper Canyon

On our 3-Day Tour around Creel and the Copper Canyon, we'll travel through iconic scenery aboard the Chepe Express. Join us for an adventure through the Sierra Tarahumara!

3-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Chihuahua - Creel

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua and travel to Creel. En route, we will visit the Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc, the regional museum, the Américas cheese factory, and a local bakery for lunch, including empanadas de queso. Following lunch, we will explore Lake Arareco, Los Hongos and Ranas Valley, the Jesuit mission of San Ignacio, and a cave of the Tarahumara Indigenous people before arriving in Creel for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Creel - Divisadero

After breakfast, we will travel to the Creel train station and board the Chepe Express to Divisadero, enjoying views of the Sierra Tarahumara. Upon arrival, there will be time to check into the hotel and have lunch. You will have 4 hours to explore the Copper Canyon Adventure Park, with activities and viewpoints available, including a suspension bridge and walking through pine forests. Dinner will be at the hotel later.

Day 3: Divisadero - Chihuahua

Following breakfast with scenic views, you'll have 1 hour of free time for hiking around the Copper Canyon. We will then head back to your hotel in Chihuahua, arriving at 3 PM.

Partial Closures

The Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc is closed on Sundays. If your tour coincides with this date, we will replace the visit with lunch at a Mennonite restaurant.

This tour includes 2 nights' accommodation at:

Creel (1st night): Hacienda Don Armando (4 stars) or similar.Divisadero (2nd night): Hotel Divisadero Barrancas (4 stars) or similar.

Additional Info

If 2 adults and 1 child are in the same room, book 2 adults in a double room plus 1 child. Similarly, for 1 adult and 1 child, book 1 adult in a single room plus 1 child. You can only make 1 reservation per room type.

Itinerary Adjustments

The Mennonite community will be closed on Sundays, and visits will be substituted with lunch at a Mennonite restaurant if needed.
