Chihuahua & El Fuerte 4-Day Tour

Charming villages with colonial churches, art created by indigenous communities, and majestic canyons await you on our 4-day expedition through Chihuahua and El Fuerte. This journey will merge natural beauty, cultural heritage, and historical insights while traversing the Sierra Madre aboard the Chepe Express.

Tour Overview

Day 1: Chihuahua to Creel

At the agreed time, we will pick you up from your lodging in Chihuahua and embark on a bus journey to Creel. Our first stop will be at the Mennonite community in Cuauhtémoc, where we will visit the local museum, the Américas cheese factory, and a small bakery where you may sample traditional dishes if desired.

After the visit, we will take you to your hotel, leaving you time to explore the quaint town established in 1907. We suggest visiting the Church of Cristo Rey, purchasing handmade crafts from the Rarámuri Indigenous community, and appreciating the scenic views surrounding the area.

Your day will conclude at the hotel in Creel, providing a restful night.

Day 2: Creel to Divisadero

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to Divisadero, reaching our destination after a drive of about one hour.

Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to grab some lunch. Afterward, we will delve into the stunning Sierra Tarahumara, home to one of its main attractions, the Copper Canyon. At the Copper Canyon Adventure Park, you will have up to four hours to explore this remarkable network of deep canyons, cross a suspension bridge, and even ride a cable car.

Your day will end at the hotel in Divisadero, where you can unwind while enjoying a picturesque sunset over the Copper Canyon. Rest well!

Day 3: Divisadero to El Fuerte

After breakfast, we will embark on one of the highlights of our journey. We’ll head to the railway station to board the renowned Chepe Express and traverse various bridges while soaking in breathtaking views of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Don't forget your camera!

The Chepe Express will transport us to El Fuerte, a recognized Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) known for its rich history and culture. Explore its cobblestone streets, the charming colonial church, artisan market, and many other delightful features. You'll also have the chance to savor some local dishes during lunch.

The day concludes as we return to the hotel in El Fuerte for a good night's rest.

Day 4: El Fuerte to Los Mochis

After sharing a delicious final breakfast, you will have some leisure time to explore and have lunch at your pace. Following that, we'll transport you to your hotel or the airport in Los Mochis, bidding farewell around 3 PM after a memorable 4-day adventure.

Adjustments to the Itinerary

It is important to note that the Mennonite community in Cuauhtémoc is closed on Sundays. If your tour falls on this day, lunch will instead be at a Mennonite restaurant.

Important Additional Information

If 2 adults and 1 child share a room, reservations cannot be made for 2 adults in a triple room with 1 child. Instead, opt for 2 adults in a double room with 1 child.

In the case of 1 adult and 1 child in the same room, booking is not permitted for 1 adult in a double room and 1 child. You must reserve 1 adult in a single room alongside 1 child.

Please be aware that only one reservation per room type is allowed. For instance, you cannot reserve both a single room and a double room simultaneously.

Cancellation Terms

Be advised that train tickets for this activity are non-refundable and cannot be altered. A 30% cancellation fee will apply to their cost. However, any remaining aspects of the tour can be canceled with no charge up to 48 hours prior to the start of the tour.
