Patagonia Hike to the Cueva de las Manos

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chile Chico at 7:30 am and board a minibus or 4x4 to the trailhead in Patagonia National Park. There, we'll begin the 7-kilometer (4.4-mile), medium-difficulty trekking route through this natural area.

During the hike, we'll cross the arid landscapes of the Patagonian plains. As we move away from the shore of Lake General Carrera, we'll observe the gradual changes in the landscape.

We will make several stops to appreciate the geological features of this area of Chilean Patagonia, including the Piedra Clavada, a needle-shaped rock 40 meters (130 feet) high formed by wind erosion.

The trail leads us to the famous Cueva de las Manos (Cave of the Hands), where we will observe paintings over 10,000 years old, depicting animals hunted by ancient inhabitants and outlines of their hands.

The hike concludes at Lunar Valley, known for its moon-like landscapes, where we will have a light snack.

We will then return to the beginning of the trail and head back to your hotel in Chile Chico, arriving at 1:30 pm.
