Sisga Dam Bike Tour

On this bike tour of the Sisga Dam, we'll explore the natural wonders of Colombia while exercising in Chocontá.

Options

When booking, you can choose from two different routes. Both start from the Senderos del Sisga campsite, last 3 hours, and include a guide in Spanish.

30-kilometer tour

This 30-kilometer (18.6-mile) bike route will navigate around the Sisga Dam, showcasing the area's natural spots. Observing Andean condors, sparrow hawks, and ducks in their habitat may be possible.

Participants will pedal through the trails of the Sisga reservoir, searching for alders, Andean princess flowers, mushrooms, lichens, and frailejones, emblematic of the Colombian páramo.

25-kilometer tour

This option includes portions of the Sisga reservoir and ascends steep mountain paths, testing physical endurance and navigating obstacles.

Riders will enter the cypress pine forests until they reach a viewpoint offering views of the lagoon, cloudy landscape, and the Suratá and Peña Blanca mountain ranges.
