Sisga Dam Hiking Tour
On this hiking tour, we will explore the flora of Cundinamarca and the unique plants of the high Andean forest of Colombia.
At your chosen time, we will meet at the main gate of the Senderos del Sisga campsite to begin an 8-kilometer (5-mile) hiking route around the Sisga Dam.
We will depart from the Sisga lagoon and ascend Cerro La Leonera, characterized by hundreds of cypress trees and thousands of endemic plants. We will reach the strip that separates the sierra from the Chingaza páramo, a vital area for flora and fauna within the Andes, which also supplies water to Bogotá.
While enjoying the scenery, we will observe pajonales, chusques, and senecios, among other species. After reaching an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,500 feet), we will return along the same route back to the Sisga Dam.
The activity will conclude after four hours at the starting point.
