Enter the wildest area of the Tepuhueico Park on this hiking tour, where we'll explore the forest's flora and fauna on Isla Grande de Chiloé.
Options
When making your booking, you'll be able to choose between the following options:
3-kilometre (1.8-mile) Hike: 1.5 - 2 hours
This hike begins touring the outskirts of the Tepuhueico Lodge until reaching the lake of the same name and the source of the Bravo River. As we progress through the forest, we'll pass a 10-metre (32-foot) high waterfall and view the river with its caramel-coloured waters, which flow towards the habitat of the huillín, a Southern River Otter. We'll arrive at the Waterfall viewpoint and visit Mañíos Square, where trees date back more than 600 years with trunks that stand 30 metres (98 feet) above the ground.
7-kilometre (4.3-mile) Hike: 4 - 5 hours
This route starts at the Arrayanes Cathedral, showcasing a myrtle tree forest with some trees reaching up to 25 metres (82 feet). We'll visit the banks of the Bravo River, traversing through a forest rich in mosses, lichens, shrubs, and ancient trees, and make a short stop at Mañíos Square. The journey culminates at the Waterfall viewpoint, an idyllic spot within Tepuhueico Park.
