La gruta del Manto Sagrado Speleology Tour

We’ll pick you up at 8:00 am at your accommodation in Tingo Maria to go to Huayna Capac, home of the Sacred Mantle cave.

After a half-hour drive, we will embark on a 25-minute hike into the Peruvian jungle. At the end of the trek is the Sacred Mantle Cave, a karst cave formed millions of years ago.

After preparing our equipment with helmets and torches, we’ll enter the cave's labyrinths of stalactites and stalagmites, experiencing various rock formations, including the cathedral.

Our descent will reach a depth of 350 metres, where we will find the underground waterfall of the Sacred Mantle, plunging from a 15-metre drop into the Tragadero del Misterio (Mystery Gully).

A lunch stop will be made for you to enjoy your picnic before we return to the surface. Once outside, we will walk to Huayna Capac for transport back to your hotel in Tingo Maria, arriving at approximately 5:00 pm.
