Discover the green lung of Cienfuegos on this day trip to the Botanical Garden, where you'll explore one of the oldest floral sanctuaries in Cuba.
Botanical Garden Highlights
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to begin our day trip to the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden. Located just a short 20 minutes from the city center, this garden is recognized as one of the oldest in Cuba and is significant in the country.
Upon arrival, we will walk through the 94 hectares (232 acres) of the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden. During this exploration, you'll encounter over 2,000 species of trees, including 23 varieties of bamboo and 150 types of palms.
We will provide insights into the garden's history, tracing back to the late 19th century, when entrepreneur Edwin F. Atkins from the United States acquired the old sugar mill to enhance botanical research on sugar cane.
To conclude the tour, we'll showcase a variety of plants from around the globe that thrive in the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden. The tour lasts a total of 3 hours, after which we'll return you to your hotel.
