Between 9 and 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu and set off to the Itaipu Dam, a hydroelectric reservoir on the Parana River with a 120-meter gross head drop.

Upon arrival, we will watch a 10-minute documentary about the history of the dam, which is shared between Brazil and Paraguay. Itaipu is recognized as the largest energy producer on the planet.

The tour continues at the Spillway viewpoint to observe how surplus water is released. We will visit the main viewpoint to take in the dam wall, constructed from concrete, rock, and earth.

Next, we will learn about the production of 103,098,366 Watts per hour while touring the power production building, the control room, the water outlet channel, and the gallery housing the 20 generating units.

Lastly, we will conclude this visit to one of the most significant hydroelectric power plants in the world and return to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu, arriving at 1 pm.
