Visit the fascinating ruins of the Jesuit mission of San Ignacio when you join us on this amazing tour during which we will also visit the Wanda semi-precious stone mine.
Trip Details
Between 7 am and 7:30 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu and travel to the Argentine province of Misiones. Our first stop will be the Wanda mines, about 60 kilometres away, a significant source of semi-precious stones exploited by Polish miners. Quartz, amethyst, topaz and agates are among the stones visible on the tour, used as raw materials in the town's unique jewelry.
After exploring the mines, we'll visit the Jesuit ruins of San Ignacio de Miní, known as the best-preserved mission in Argentina. You'll learn about the history of Jesuit Roque González Santa Cruz, who founded the mission in the 17th century. You'll have free time for lunch in San Ignacio before we return to the bus for our journey back.
From San Ignacio, we will return to your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu, arriving between 6 pm and 7 pm.
Hotel Pickup
The tour includes hotel pickup at all hotels in Foz do Iguaçu, with the exception of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. If you are staying here, we will contact you to confirm the time to be ready at the entrance of the Iguassu National Park.
