Abseiling Adventure at Sótano El Cepillo

Your adventure begins with a 7 am pickup from your hotel in Ciudad Valles, followed by a scenic minibus ride to Aquismón. The journey will last approximately an hour and a half.

Upon arrival, indulge in a hearty breakfast featuring options like coffee, enchiladas, chilaquiles, or scrambled eggs, depending on the season—an excellent way to fuel up before an exhilarating day of abseiling!

Have you ever wondered about Mexican 'sótanos'? Translated as 'basements', these fascinating formations are actually pit caves resembling deep abysses penetrating the earth's depths. During our activity, we will explore 'sótano El Cepillo', recognized as one of Aquismón's most notable caves.

We will be provided with complete safety gear for the abseiling experience as we begin our descent through the nearly 160-metre (524 feet) vertical drop of this remarkable grotto.

Guided by our instructors throughout the adventure, we will venture into the enchanting realms of Huasteca Potosina, taking in its stunning natural beauty. In the final part of our descent, we’ll discover a serene natural pool with turquoise waters, where you can take a refreshing swim if you'd like.

After some time to relax in the cave, we will commence our ascent back to the surface. To regain your energy, we will visit a local restaurant where lunch—comprising a dish and a drink—awaits you.

Your excursion will conclude around 7 pm, after which we will take you back to your hotel.
