Xilitla Trip

Besides discovering the beautiful town of Xilitla and its Surrealist Garden, you will have the opportunity to choose which natural abyss you want to visit. We propose two options for you to enjoy the experience as you wish.

Xilitla and Sótano de las Golondrinas Trip

We'll pick you up at the hotel in Ciudad Valles at the designated time and after an enjoyable 50-minute journey through the landscapes of San Luis Potosi, we'll arrive at our destination: Xilitla. You'll learn why they call it "the magic town".

Next, we'll visit the wonderful Edward James Surrealist Garden, where among the exotic vegetation we'll find buildings surrounded by trees, waterfalls, and even natural pools! Through doors that lead to nothing and stairs that lead to the sky, we'll discover the history of the British artist from whom this place takes its name.

Then, we'll enjoy an appetizer of an energy bar and iced tea and go to the center of Xilitla. We'll stroll among its colorful streets to explore elegant mansions and enter a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional lunch and a drink.

We hit the road again and head to the village of Aquismón, where we'll discover the Sótano de las Golondrinas: the sixth deepest natural abyss in the world at 512 metres (1679 feet)!

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Ciudad Valles to conclude this day trip of 11.5 hours.

Xilitla and Sótano de las Huahuas Trip

We'll pick you up at your accommodation at the designated time and leave Ciudad Valles to head for Xilitla, considered the "magic town" of San Luis Potosi.

After an hour's drive and a tasty energy bar and iced tea, we'll arrive at our destination to visit the amazing Edward James Surrealist Garden. In the heart of the jungle, we'll discover waterfalls, doors that lead to nothing, and stairs that disappear into the clouds - an homage to nonsense! Afterward, we will explore the old town of Xilitla to see its stately homes and enjoy a traditional lunch and drink.

We'll return to the road and make one last stop in the municipality of Aquismón. After a stroll among the idyllic coffee plantations, we'll encounter the Sótano de las Huahuas, a natural abyss of 478 metres (1568 feet) deep. We'll walk to the mouth of the hole to contemplate the dark interior and the exotic birds that inhabit it.
