Xilitla Trip
Besides exploring the town of Xilitla and its Surrealist Garden, you can choose between two natural abysses to visit.
Xilitla and Sótano de las Golondrinas Trip
Pickup is at your hotel in Ciudad Valles at 9 am. After a 50-minute drive, we will arrive in Xilitla, known as "the magic town." Here, we will visit the Edward James Surrealist Garden, featuring buildings amidst vegetation, waterfalls, and natural pools. We will learn about Edward James's history.
After a snack of an energy bar and iced tea, we will explore the center of Xilitla, visiting elegant mansions and enjoying a traditional lunch and a drink at a local restaurant. We will then travel to Aquismón to see the Sótano de las Golondrinas, the sixth deepest natural abyss in the world at 512 meters (1679 feet). We will return to Ciudad Valles by 8:30 pm.
Xilitla and Sótano de las Huahuas Trip
Pickup is at your accommodation at 9 am to head for Xilitla. After an hour's drive and a snack, we will visit the Edward James Surrealist Garden, exploring waterfalls and unique structures. Next, we will tour the old town of Xilitla and enjoy a traditional lunch and drink.
We will travel to Aquismón to visit the Sótano de las Huahuas, a natural abyss of 478 meters (1568 feet) deep. We will observe the hole's interior and the exotic birds residing there. We will return to Ciudad Valles by 9 pm, concluding the excursion.
