Two of the most mysterious places in the Lazio region await you on this excursion to Civita di Bagnoregio & the Gardens of Bomarzo. Walk through "the dying city" and discover curious sculptures at the Park of the Monsters!

Civita di Bagnoregio & Park of the Monsters Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel or the cruise port of Civitavecchia, we will travel by minibus to Civita di Bagnoregio, about an hour and a half away. This town is perched on a mountain, and to reach the historic center, we must cross a footbridge - the only access. We will enjoy views of the surrounding valleys and hills as we walk across the bridge.

During a two and a half hour guided tour, we will explore the Renaissance buildings, the exterior of the Romanesque Church of San Donato, and the medieval street layout. We will explain why this place is called "the dying city."

Before returning to the minibus, we will take a break for a picnic including a starter, pizza or pasta dish, water, and coffee.

Then we will visit the Gardens of Bomarzo, known as the Park of the Monsters. For an hour and a half, we will share the story of this 16th-century creation by Vicino Orsini, featuring hundreds of enigmatic sculptures, fountains, and abundant vegetation.

At the end of the excursion, we will return you to your hotel, arriving at 6 pm.
