Civita di Bagnoregio & Park of the Monsters Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel or the cruise port of Civitavecchia, we will travel by minibus to the small town of Civita di Bagnoregio, about an hour and a half away.

This town is perched on top of a mountain. To reach the historic center, we must cross a footbridge, the only way in. As we cross the bridge, we will enjoy views of the valleys and hills surrounding the town.

During a two and a half hour guided tour of this Italian town, we will admire its Renaissance buildings and the Romanesque Church of San Donato's exterior, exploring the medieval layout of its streets. We will also discuss why it is dubbed "the dying city."

Before returning to the minibus, we will take a break for a picnic consisting of a starter, a pizza or pasta dish, water, and coffee.

Next, we will head to the Gardens of Bomarzo, known as the Park of the Monsters. For an hour and a half, we will share the history of this site created in the 16th century by Vicino Orsini. Hundreds of sculptures, fountains, and abundant vegetation create a magical atmosphere.

At the end of the excursion, we will return to your hotel, arriving at 6 pm.
