Clorinda & Pilcomayo River Tour
At 7:30 am, we'll meet at Roque Saenz Peña Avenue in Clorinda for a panoramic tour of the city in the Argentinian province of Formosa.
During the Clorinda tour, which borders the Paraguayan border to the north, we'll learn about the history of its main monuments, including parishes of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, San Juan Bautista, and San José Esposo de María.
At mid-morning, we'll have a light snack in the center of Clorinda before heading to the banks of the Pilcomayo River. You can choose from a kayak, a canoe, or a rowboat. We will embark on a paddling tour on the river, appreciating its natural scenery.
During the first 2-hour paddle, we will stop every 30 minutes to rest and observe native fauna, including Formosan birds, howler monkeys, mountain foxes, coatis, and river otters. The paddle will conclude with a picnic featuring a typical Formosan dish.
After lunch, we will fish in the river and continue paddling for 1 hour. We will then drive to the El Porteño neighborhood of Clorinda for a snack that includes cocido quemado and other local specialties.
We will return to the meeting point, arriving between 4 and 5 pm.
