Clorinda & Pilcomayo River Tour
At 7:30 am, we will meet at Roque Saenz Peña Avenue in Clorinda for a panoramic tour of the city located in Argentina's province of Formosa. This tour will cover Clorinda, which borders Paraguay to the north, highlighting key historical monuments including the parishes of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, San Juan Bautista, and San José Esposo de María.
Mid-morning, we will have a light snack in central Clorinda before heading to the banks of the Pilcomayo River. Participants can choose from a kayak, canoe, or rowboat for an exciting paddling tour, which lasts for 2 hours with breaks every 30 minutes for rest, photos, and wildlife observation. Expect to see Formosan birds, howler monkeys, mountain foxes, coatis, and river otters. The tour will conclude with a picnic featuring a typical Formosan dish.
Post-lunch, we will spend some time fishing in the river before paddling for an additional hour. Following this, we will visit the El Porteño neighborhood in Clorinda for a snack that includes cocido quemado and other local specialties.
We aim to return to the meeting point between 4 and 5 pm.
