Pilgrims were captivated by the magnificent Cluny Abbey. This Benedictine monastery was the largest Christian church in the world until St. Peter's Basilica was built in Rome. Cluny Abbey's Romanesque architecture influenced many other shrines in Europe. This ticket allows you to visit the remains of the abbey, dating back to 909. Visitors will learn about the lifestyle of the monks of the Benedictine order and how they inspired other religious orders in Europe.
Inside this European Heritage site, you will also encounter one of the campuses of the Arts et Métiers ParisTech University.

Cluny Abbey is open from Monday to Sunday at the following times:
April 1 - June 30: 9:30 am - 6 pmJuly 1 - August 31: 9:30 am - 7 pmSeptember 1 - 30: 9:30 am - 6 pmOctober 1 - March 31: 9:30 am - 5 pm
The Museum of Art and Archaeology is closed between 12:30 pm and 2 pm until the end of the year. On January 28, 2025, Cluny Abbey and the Museum will open at 11:30 am. Note that these times are subject to change. The last access to the abbey is 45 minutes before closing, and the museum access is 30 minutes before closing.
Free Admission
Admission to Cluny Abbey is free for:
Young people from the EU aged 18 to 25.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.
Admission is also free on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, as well as the 3rd weekend of September. To obtain free admission, visit the site’s ticket office with a certifying document.
