Agroflori & Villa Albina Excursion
We'll pick you up at 10 am at your hotel in Cochabamba for an excursion to the bird sanctuary of Parque de Aves Agroflori.
Upon arrival, we will explore this nature reserve dedicated to the protection of abused animals, initiated over two decades ago by Marcelo Antezana, following his experiences with the trafficking of exotic animals.
During the visit, we will learn about the preservation work of the park, including efforts to reintroduce birds like the Tucuman amazon back into their habitat. Species such as Scarlet and Hyacinth macaws, along with peacocks, eagles, and flamingos rescued from droughts, can be seen in the refuge.
The next stop will be Villa Albina, a mansion built by wealthy miner Simón Patiño for his wife, named after her. This residence is one of the many contributions of the so-called "Tin King" to Bolivian heritage. After visiting the residence, we will return to Cochabamba, arriving at 3:30 pm.
Changes to the itinerary
On Saturdays and Sundays, the order of the visits will be reversed, starting with Villa Albina and then proceeding to the Agroflori bird sanctuary.
