Cochabamba Churches Tour
We'll meet at the Plaza de Colón at the appointed time to begin this tour of the most important churches of the metropolitan axis of Cochabamba, including Tiquipaya and Quillacollo.
We'll start with a visit to the exterior of the Cathedral of San Sebastian to admire its portico of Corinthian columns and semicircular arches, and its striking pointed rose window. We'll learn about the history of this temple and then stop in front of the parish church of San Miguel de Tiquipaya, notable for its two-coloured façade and stepped bell tower.
Next, we'll move to the outskirts to visit the church of Santiago Apóstol de El Paso and discover its significance for the community, followed by a visit to Quillacollo.
In Quillacollo, we'll first visit the exterior of the cathedral of San Ildefonso, located in a quiet square, where we'll review the four centuries of history of this basilica.
Then we'll proceed to the sanctuary of the Virgin of Urkupiña, which holds a religious legend related to the Virgen María Asunta, to be revealed at the end of the tour.
After a four-hour tour, we'll return to the starting point.
