Churches of Cochabamba Tour
Your journey begins at the Plaza de Colón or, if you prefer, from your hotel situated in the city center, at the prearranged time. We will embark on an insightful excursion to the significant churches along the metropolitan axis of Cochabamba, encompassing areas like Tiquipaya and Quillacollo.
The adventure starts with a visit to the striking Cathedral of San Sebastian. Take in the elegance of its Corinthian columns, semi-circular arches, and eye-catching pointed rose window. As we delve into the history behind this religious structure, we will then proceed to gaze upon the parish church of San Miguel de Tiquipaya, noted for its lovely two-tone façade and tiered bell tower.
Next, we will venture to the outskirts to explore the church of Santiago Apóstol de El Paso. This chapel holds significant meaning for the locals, and from here, we’ll continue our journey towards Quillacollo.
In Quillacollo, we will first view the Cathedral of San Ildefonso de Quillacollo, set in a serene square, where we can reflect on the four centuries of legacy related to this basilica.
Subsequently, we'll make our way to the sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin of Urkupiña, also located in Quillacollo. This site is steeped in a captivating religious tale linked to the Asunción de la Virgen María, which will be unveiled at the end of our adventure, providing a memorable conclusion to our tour!
After an enriching 5-hour experience, we will reconvene at Plaza Colón.
