Incallajta Fort Tour
The tour starts at 8 am with a hotel pickup in Cochabamba, after which we set off to the high valley, crossing the Andean plains and passing the Angostura Lagoon, an artificial lake used for recreation.
We will arrive at Incallajta, an emblematic archaeological site in Bolivia. "Incallajta" means "city of the Inca" and is part of the Inca Axis, connecting key areas of the Inca civilization including Machu Picchu in Peru and Samaipata and Incallajta in Bolivia. Samaipata was the most significant city of Collasuyo, one of the four regions of the Inca Empire, Tahuantinsuyo.
During the tour, we will stroll along the Inca roads and preserved stone buildings, visiting famous squares, courtyards, and temples such as the Kallanka. Participants will learn about the history of the pre-Columbian empire. Near the end, a picnic lunch will be enjoyed before continuing to explore the archaeological complex to capture moments with photographs of the ruins.
The tour concludes with a return to Cochabamba, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
