Discover one of the most important places in Tahuantinsuyo with this amazing Tour of the Incallajta fort from Cochabamba. Explore the rich Inca culture!

Incallajta Fort Tour

The tour starts at 8 am with pickup from your hotel, followed by departure from Cochabamba to the high valley. The journey includes crossing the Andean plains and passing the Angostura Lagoon, an artificial lake used as a recreational area by locals.

Upon arrival at the Incallajta fort, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Bolivia, participants will learn that "incallajta" means "city of the Inca." This site is part of the Inca Axis, linking major areas of the Inca civilization, including Machu Picchu in Peru and Samaipata and Incallajta in Bolivia. Notably, Samaipata was the key city of Collasuyo, one of the four divisions of the Inca Empire.

During the tour, you will stroll along Inca roads and visit stone buildings, including squares, courtyards, and temples like the Kallanka. Participants will learn about the history of the Inca Empire and conclude the visit with a picnic lunch followed by further exploration of the archaeological complex, allowing time for photography of the ancient ruins.

The tour concludes with a return to Cochabamba, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
