Incallajta Fort Tour

The tour starts at 8 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cochabamba. We will then depart to the high valley, crossing the Andean plains and passing the Angostura Lagoon, an artificial lake utilized by locals for recreational activities.

Upon arrival at Incallajta, a significant archaeological site in Bolivia, you will learn that "incallajta" means "city of the Inca." This site is part of the Inca Axis, a historical route linking main areas of Inca civilization, including Machu Picchu in Peru and Samaipata and Incallajta in Bolivia. Notably, Samaipata was crucial in Collasuyo, one of the four divisions of the Inca Empire.

During the tour, participants will walk along Inca roads and explore preserved stone buildings, squares, courtyards, and temples such as the Kallanka. You will learn about the history of the pre-Columbian empire. The tour includes a picnic lunch, after which you'll continue exploring the archaeological complex and capturing moments of these ancient ruins.

After visiting the fort, we conclude the tour with a return to Cochabamba, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
