Excursion to Teotitlán del Valle, Mitla & Mezcal Distillery

This tour begins with hotel pick-up, followed by a 7-mile (12 km) journey to Santa Maria del Tule, home to the tree with the largest trunk in the world, measuring 14 meters in diameter and over 1,400 years old.

The tour continues to Teotitlán del Valle, renowned for its artisans who produce textiles using traditional methods passed down through generations. You'll gain insight into the preserved Zapotec culture of this village.

Next, we will explore Mitla, a significant architectural site in Oaxaca. Here, we will tour the ruins of a historical Zapotec village known for its contributions to architecture, astronomy, and engineering, admiring the unique wall decorations and ornate halls that lead to the church.

Following this, we will visit a candle workshop to understand the traditional craft of candle-making, including the vela de concha and aromatic candles. The excursion concludes with an exploration of mezcal production, where you will enjoy a tasting to experience the different flavor notes.
