Guelatao & Calpulálpam 2 Day Tour
Day 1: Oaxaca - Guelatao de Juárez - Calpulálpam de Méndez
At 10 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and travel to the Guelatao glass viewpoint for views of the Oaxaca Valley and Sierra Juárez mountain range. Next, we will visit Guelatao de Juárez to see a museum based on the house where Benito Juárez lived and the basilica where he was baptized. Then, we'll proceed to Calpulálpam de Méndez, known for its embroidery, where you will have free time for lunch. A cultural tour will follow, including visits to local houses, the market, and the San Mateo Apóstol temple.
We will spend the night in picturesque stone cabins.
Day 2: Calpulálpam de Méndez - Oaxaca
We will begin with a visit to the UMA (Environmental Management Unit) to see white-tailed deer, followed by a walk to the Arroyo Cave. Afterward, you'll have 1 hour of free time for lunch. We will then visit the Traditional Indigenous Medicine Centre to learn about local medicinal plants, with optional services like body cleansing, massage, or sauna available.
We will return to your hotel in Oaxaca by approximately 7 pm.
