Immerse yourself in the culture of this region of Mexico, visiting the frozen waterfalls of Hierve el Agua and Teotitlán del Valle, known for its textile tradition.

Description

After pickup from your hotel, we will travel southeast from Oaxaca to the frozen waterfalls of Hierve el Agua in San Isidro de Roaguía. Experience stunning views of the falls, one at 100 feet (30 metres) and the other at 40 feet (12 metres). Formed over 2,500 years ago from calcium carbonate, these falls are considered sacred by the Zapotec people. You will have an opportunity to bathe in the natural pools and admire the landscapes of the Madre del Sur mountain range.

The tour continues with a demonstration of mezcal production, the state's typical drink, utilizing 120 of the 210 agave varieties worldwide, with tastings included. You will have 1 hour of free time to eat in Palenque Mezcal. After lunch, we will head to Teotitlán del Valle, approximately 30 minutes from Oaxaca, to witness traditional Zapotec textile production featuring wool products decorated with dyes and designs.
