Hiking in Sierra Norte

Upon collecting you from your accommodation in Oaxaca at the agreed time, we'll board a comfortable vehicle and set off towards the east, entering the Sierra Norte for an extraordinary hiking adventure. Join us as we explore the largest cloud forest area in Mexico!

Before embarking on the hike, we will make a stop at a local family workshop specializing in wooden grinders. You'll learn about their traditional grinders, which are essential in the preparation of delightful chocolate dishes across the state. Would you be interested in tasting some?

Following this visit, we’ll begin our trek with a 3 km (5 mile) hike to reach the summit in the ecotourism park of Santa Catarina Ixtepeji. During our journey, we'll traverse some notable towns in the Sierra Norte, including Benito Juárez, La Nevería, Cuajimoloyas, and Latuvi.

As we proceed along the path, we will share intriguing insights about this stunning region, renowned for its rich biodiversity and ancient pine and holm oak forests.

After approximately 9 hours of exploration and adventure, we will return you to your hotel in Oaxaca.
