Oaxaca to Huatulco: 6-Day Tour

Day 1: Oaxaca

Arrival in Oaxaca; transfer to a hotel in the city centre. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Oaxaca - Monte Albán - Arrazola - San Bartolo Coyotepec - Oaxaca

After breakfast, drive to the archaeological site of Mount Albán to learn about the Zapotec civilization. Visit a workshop in Arrazola for alebrijes, followed by a stop at a 16th-century Dominican ex-monk monastery in Cuilápam de Guerrero. Explore San Bartolo Coyotepec and its black clay workshop. One hour for lunch in San Bartolo; return to Oaxaca by 5:45 pm.

Day 3: Oaxaca - Tule - Teotitlán del Valle - Mitla - Oaxaca

Breakfast, then pick up at 9:45 am for the Santa María del Tule Tree. Visit a weaving workshop in Teotitlán del Valle, with an hour for lunch. Explore the Mitla Archaeological Site and a mezcal distillery. Return to Oaxaca around 5:45 pm.

Day 4: Oaxaca - Bahías de Huatulco

Pick up at 6 am; breakfast in San José del Pacífico, arriving at a hotel in Bahías de Huatulco by 1 pm. Sightseeing tour at 3:45 pm with a stop at a Mexican clothing workshop. Return to hotel by 6:45 pm.

Day 5: Bahías de Huatulco

Breakfast, then pick up at 9 am for a boat trip from Santa Cruz dock around the Bays of Huatulco. Snorkeling in Chachacual Bay with a stop at Maguey Bay for 2 hours to swim and eat. Return to the hotel by 6 pm.

Day 6: Bahías de Huatulco

Leisurely breakfast before transfer to Bahía de Huatulco Airport.

Oaxaca (3 nights): 3-star Oaxaca Real, Hotel del Marquesado, Parador del Dominico or similar.Bahías de Huatulco (2 nights): 3-star Azul Sirena, Alikar, Best Western or similar.

Breakfasts are included on the second, third, fifth, and sixth day. Lunches and dinners are not included, with opportunities to eat at local restaurants or hotel restaurants.
