Ocotlan Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and travel to Ocotlán de Morelos, located 45 kilometres from the city center. We will explore the town, visiting the Ocotlán Basilica adorned in neoclassical style. You will have the opportunity to experience the local market, where typical regional delicacies can be savored (not included), and stroll through the traditional square, which hosts artisans every Friday selling artisanal wares. Here, you can purchase food, utensils, or textiles while enjoying the lively atmosphere.

The tour continues to Santo Tomás Jalieza, known for its traditional Mesoamerican weaving techniques, producing vibrant items. The tour culminates in San Martín Tilcajete, where you will learn about the creation of 'alebrijes', colorful sculptures inspired by the work of Pedro Linares from the 1930s, integral to Oaxaca's artisanal culture.

After concluding the tour, we will return to Oaxaca, arriving around 5:30 pm.
