Day Trip Details

Your tour begins with a pickup from your hotel, followed by a 7-mile (12 km) trip to Santa Maria del Tule, home to the largest trunk tree in the world, measuring 14 meters in diameter and over 1,400 years old.

Next, the tour proceeds to Teotitlán del Valle, known for artisans who produce textiles. You will hear stories of the Zapotec culture, preserved over generations in this village.

The journey continues to Mitla, a significant architectural site in Oaxaca. Here, you'll explore the ruins of a Zapotec village, showcasing exceptional wall decorations and intricate halls leading to the church.

You will then visit a candle workshop, where you will learn about the traditional vela de concha and the making of aromatic candles. The excursion concludes with a mezcal production demonstration, including a tasting session to experience various flavor notes.

At the end of the day, you will return to Oaxaca, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
