Tule and Teotitlán del Valle are two beautiful towns in the state of Oaxaca. This day trip includes a visit to a mezcal distillery.

At 10 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and drive to Santa María del Tule.

We will visit the park where the Tree of Tule is located. This juniper tree has the thickest trunk in the world and is over 2,000 years old. While admiring this tree, we will learn facts about its characteristics.

Next, we will visit Teotitlán del Valle, where we will observe how typical tapetes, bags, and sarapes are made using ancestral pigmentation techniques. Natural materials, including chinchilla, are used as dyes to minimize environmental impact.

After learning about these techniques, we will head to a local distillery to discover the production process of mezcal, a popular alcoholic beverage in Oaxaca.

We will return to Oaxaca and drop you off at your hotel at 2:30 pm.
