Less than an hour away from Coimbra, the Venice of Portugal awaits you. Explore Aveiro on a traditional Moliceiro boat and discover the beautiful beaches at Costa Nova.

Aveiro & Costa Nova Tour

After meeting on Emídio Navarro Av. in Coimbra, you will depart for Aveiro. Upon arrival, you will board a Moliceiro boat for a 45-minute cruise on the canals of Aveiro, known as the Venice of Portugal. Following the boat tour, you will explore the old town of Aveiro, viewing the Art Nouveau buildings and visiting the fishermen's quarter. You will also have the opportunity to taste the traditional sweet, ovos moles.

Your next stop will be Praia da Barra, where you can explore the sandy beach and photograph the Aveiro Lighthouse, the second tallest lighthouse on the Iberian Peninsula. You will then proceed to Costa Nova, famous for its striped houses historically linked to local fishermen, now a popular tourist site.

After enjoying your time in these coastal towns, you will return to the meeting point in Coimbra.

Climbing Aveiro Lighthouse

If you participate in the tour on a Wednesday afternoon, you can opt to climb Aveiro Lighthouse. After ascending 300 steps, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the bay. This activity is not recommended for individuals with heart problems.
