Discover beautiful beaches, the fascinating Castle of Montemor-o-Velho, and the immense rice and corn fields of Baixo Mondego on this tour of Figueira da Foz from Coimbra.

Figueira da Foz Tour

After meeting on Emídio Navarro Av. in Coimbra, you'll be taken to the coastal city of Figueira da Foz, starting at Praia da Claridade, a popular beach among locals.

Stroll along its sands and take photos before visiting the area's famous salt flats. At the Figueira da Foz Salt Museum, you'll learn about the significance of salt and the production process.

Driving through the expansive corn and rice plantations of Baixo Mondego, you'll reach the Castle of Montemor-o-Velho for a 30-minute stop. This Medieval fortress, built between the 10th and 15th centuries, served as a residence for Portugal's royal family. Located on a hilltop, it overlooks valleys and has witnessed historical battles. Discover the legends surrounding the castle.

The tour concludes with a tasting of the typical Portuguese pastry Pastel de Tentúgal, known for its combination of filo pastry, cinnamon, eggs, and sugar.

After a day filled with beautiful beaches and history, you will return to the meeting point in Coimbra.
