On this tour from Coimbra, you'll walk along the wooden Paiva Walkways, the most famous trails in Northern Portugal.
Paiva Walkways Tour
At the agreed time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Coimbra and head to the river beach of Areinho, located on the banks of the Paiva River.
Once there, we will provide brief directions and begin our hike through the Paiva Walkways. The hike covers 8 kilometers (5 miles) and takes approximately two and a half hours.
As we walk along the wooden walkways over the Paiva River, we will learn about the geology of this natural site. Discussions will include local fauna and flora, as well as its archaeological significance.
Halfway, we will stop briefly at Praia do Vau to rest and discuss the reconstruction of the wooden walkways, which received the Leading Tourism Development Project in Europe award from the World Travel Awards in 2016.
From Praia do Vau, we will continue our hike to Espiunca river beach. Afterward, we will return to your hotel in Coimbra, arriving four and a half hours after the pick-up time.
